Cal Poly's Kristina Santiago (Santa Maria, Calif./Righetti HS) strikes again as she collects her second consecutive, third of the season, Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for the week ending Jan. 17.
The junior forward guided the Mustangs to a 76-73 overtime win over then-league-leading Cal State Fullerton with career-highs in points (34), field goals (16) and field goal attempts (24). She also matched a personal-best with five steals and pulled down seven rebounds. In the Mustangs' win over Long Beach State, Santiago grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds to help contribute towards her fourth double-double of the season as she drained 15 points as well. Cal Poly improved to 4-1 after the 2-0 week to tie for first with UC Davis in the Big West standings.
