Cal State Northridge forward Cameron Sims picked up a pair of important goals during the Matador Challenge last weekend, netting him Big West Player of the Week accolades.

The senior forward opened up the tournament with a goal in the 65th minute against Fairleigh Dickinson in CSUN’s 2-0 win over the Knights. The tally held up as the game-winner for the Matadors.

Sims then tallied another goal in the following game against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, rippling the net in the 78th minute to break a 1-1 deadlock which eventually turned into a 2-1 victory.

Sims’ two game-winners equaled his total from the ‘08 season and made him the first CSUN player since 2006 to register game-winning goals in back-to-back contests.

Others Nominated: Celso Alvarez, Cal State Fullerton; Spencer Thompson, UC Irvine; Tyler Wilson, UC Riverside; Martin Hedevag, UC Santa Barbara
