Angelica Figueroa (Linden, Calif., Linden HS) spearheaded a pair of Pacific home wins to capture her first Big West Women’s Soccer Player of the Week award.

Figueroa scored two goals and added two assists as the Tigers toppled Portland State (5-0) and Albany (2-1).  She took eight shots, seven of which were on goal.

The sophomore midfielder scored two goals and assisted on another against the Vikings in the shutout victory.  It was the second game-winning goal and multi-goal game of her career.

Against Albany, Figueroa helped end a 53-minute scoring drought when she recorded an assist on Pacific’s first goal.

In 2008, Figueroa scored three goals.  She is just one goal short of that total three games into the 2009 campaign.

Others nominated:  Rochelle VanBuskirk (UC Davis); Devon Delarosa (UC Irvine); Sally Yunker (UC Riverside)
