Outside hitter Megan McConnell posted a team-high 10 kills and fellow freshman Molly Pon capped an impressive opening week to her collegiate career with nine kills, but neither performance proved enough to lift the Cal Poly volleyball team to its first victory of 2009 as the Mustangs completed play at the Colorado State-hosted Asics Classic Sunday afternoon with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-19 loss to the No. 24 Rams.
