Aggies Even Series With Northridge On Johnson's Walk-Off Single

Redshirt freshman Eric Johnson roped a pinch-hit walk-off single through the left side to score junior Ty Kelly from third base and cap a three-run UC Davis rally during the ninth inning of a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over Cal State Northridge in Big West Conference baseball action Saturday afternoon at Dobbins Stadium. The Aggie victory ties the series at 1-1 and sets up the rubber match in tomorrow's season finale.

Highlanders Baseball Holds On For 7-6 Win Over Cal Poly

UC Riverside kept its NCAA postseason hopes alive as starter Paul Applebee allowed just seven hits over eight-plus innings and Ryan Goetz drove in three runs to lead the Highlanders to a 7-6 win over Cal Poly. UCR has one regular season game remaining on Sunday with the Mustangs at 1 pm. Their fate then gets handed over to the NCAA selection committee. The field of 64 for the 2009 NCAA Baseball Tournament will be announced on Monday, May 25 at 9:30 am PT.
