Pacific’s Starke Part Of Win Against Nationally Ranked Doubles Team
The Big West selected Pacific's
Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany/Forsyth Country Day School) for Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors as the senior went 3-1 in singles and doubles, including a victory over a nationally ranked doubles squad from Arkansas.
Starke joined forces with teammate Renan Delsin to punctuate a solid week of tennis against the No. 14-ranked tandem in the country of Blake Strode and Matt Hogan from Arkansas. The Tiger duo won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles to help Pacific to the doubles point, its only points in a 6-1 loss to the No. 47 Razorbacks. Starke nearly pulled off a major upset at the top singles position, taking No. 15 Strode to the wire in a 7-5, 7-6 (1) defeat.
In a 5-2 team win against Wichita State, Starke played more quality tennis. He demolished his No. 1 counterpart, Michal Zawadzki, by a 6-2, 6-1 score. Starke also teamed with freshman Christian Kuehne to dispatch Jonathan Obrist and Zawadzki, 8-5, at No. 1 doubles.
Long Beach State's Grady Earns 10th Career Weekly Honor

Hannah Grady (Coventry, England/Oxford School) garnered her 10th career Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honor as she defeated a ranked opponent from San Diego State.
Grady, ranked No. 68 in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, toppled No. 93 Julia Trunk by a 7-5, 6-1 score. The victory raised Grady's dual record at No. 1 singles to 3-2 on the year. The 49ers won the match 4-2 against the Aztecs. Only singles was played as rain washed out the doubles competition.
