A career-high 29 points from UC Santa Barbara's Chris Devine (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak HS) led the Gauchos to a come-from-behind 68-66 victory against Central Coast rival Cal Poly, earning the senior his second career Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award.

Devine scored 12 of his team's final 16 points and hit his last six shots in a row as the Gauchos completed the season sweep of the Mustangs.  He sank two free throws with 7.3 seconds left to break a 66-66 tie.

He also contributed five rebounds and a season-high tying four assists in 35 minutes.  Devine hit 10 of 16 shots from the floor and made 8 of 9 from the free throw line.

The 29 points lifted Devine's career total to 1,488 points, putting him 12 shy of becoming just the fourth player in school history to reach 1,500.  He now has 668 rebounds for his career, which places him fifth in UCSB's record book.

Others nominated:  Kenny Daniels (Cal State Northridge); Joe Harden (UC Davis); Aaron Scott (UC Riverside)
