Cal Poly's Dome Dispatches First Ranked Opponent

Cal Poly freshman Andre Dome (Arroyo Grande, Calif.) earned Big West Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors after going 2-1 at the No. 1 singles position, including a win over a ranked opponent for the first time.

Dome took on opponents from No. 72 UNLV, Southern Mississippi and New Mexico State in Las Vegas.  He dropped No. 99 Patricio Alvarado from Southern Miss by a 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 score to help the Mustangs to a 4-2 win.  He also defeated Roman Stoisavljevic of New Mexico State by a 6-4, 6-2 count, leading the Mustangs to a 5-2 victory.  He dropped a tough 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 decision to No. 111 Elliott Wronski of UNLV in a 5-2 team loss to the No. 72 Rebels.

Pacific's Widjaja Wins Twice At No. 1 Singles

Pacific sophomore Jenifer Widjaja (Sao Roque, Sao Paulo, Brazil) garnered Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades after posting a combined 3-1 singles and doubles record at the No. 1 position.

Widjaja helped the Tigers to victories over Santa Clara (4-3) and Big West member UC Santa Barbara (5-2).  She defeated Stephanie Galainea of Santa Clara 6-3, 6-2 and Michelle Murphy of UC Santa Barbara 6-0, 6-2.  Widjaja is now 6-0 on the season in dual matches. 

Widjaja and partner Olga Gumenyuk went 1-1 in doubles, beating Murphy and Jill Damion of the Gauchos 8-1.
