Among what was considered the most prestigious field of all the holiday tournaments, Long Beach State's T.J. Robinson (West Haven, Conn./Kolbe Cathedral HS) excelled against the competition with averages of 20.0 points and 12.3 rebounds in three games of the 76 Classic, earning him Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors.

Long Beach State posted a 1-2 record in the 76 Classic, defeating UCLA for the first time in school history in the seventh place game after falling to No. 8 West Virginia and No. 19 Clemson in the first two contests.  Robinson earned 76 Classic All-Tournament honors after nearly posting a double-double in all three games.

Against the eighth-ranked Mountaineers, Robinson had 10 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes of an 85-62 loss on Thanksgiving Day.  He returned to action one day later against the 19th-ranked Tigers, and proceeded to deliver career-highs of 25 points and 15 rebounds.  Robinson made 9 of 13 shots from the field against Clemson in a tightly contested 87-79 final.

Robinson played a monumental role in LBSU's first win in 12 tries against UCLA.  He equalled his career high with 25 points while pulling down 13 boards.  He also shot 10 of 19 from the floor to lead a strong 49er shooting effort, which included 53.6% (30 of 56) efficiency against the Bruins.

He shot 60.5% (23 of 38) from the field in addition to averaging a double-double.  He led the 76 Classic in scoring, rebounding and made field goals.

Others nominated:  Aaron Thompson (Cal State Fullerton); Willie Galick (Cal State Northridge); Dominic Calegari (UC Davis); Eric Wise (UC Irvine); Larry Gurganious (UC Riverside); Orlando Johnson (UC Santa Barbara)
