Cal Poly's Tiffany Gummow (Los Gatos, Calif./Archbishop Mitty HS) and UC Irvine's Kate Berrini (Foster City, Calif./Notre Dame HS) were named Big West Women's Soccer Co-Players of the Week after sparking their teams to key victories.

Gummow netted the game-winning goal in Cal Poly's 2-0 road victory over UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.  The win clinched the Mustangs' sixth overall Big West regular season title and the No. 1 seed in this week's conference tournament.

She scored in the 71st minute to break a scoreless tie, taking a cross from Afton Thulin and slamming a shot into the upper left portion of the goal.  It was Gummow's third game-winning goal of the season.

Berrini notched three goals in two wins in her final two regular season matches as an Anteater.  The forward scored one goal to help UCI to a 3-0 shutout of Long Beach State and ultimately secure a Big West Tournament berth.  The Anteaters, which tied for fourth in the final regular season standings, won a tiebreaker on goal differential to advance to the tournament.

In a 2-0 non-conference win versus Gonzaga, Berrini tallied both scores in the 15th and 85th minutes.  She finished the regular season with four goals, giving her 14 for her career.  The 14 goals puts her in the UCI top 10.

Others nominated:  Jordan-Michelle Santos (Cal State Fullerton); Denise Thomas (UC Riverside)
