Coral Hoover (Corralitos, Calif./Harbor HS) captured her third Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week award as the Cal Poly shutout machine blanked UC Davis and Long Beach State in two key conference victories.
She recorded her seventh and eighth shutouts of the season in identical 1-0 triumphs over the Aggies and 49ers. The wins moved Cal Poly to 5-1-0 and in sole possession of first place in the Big West with 15 points.
Hoover made seven saves on seven UCD shots on Friday. The most critical saves came in the 51st minute when she made a diving stop, then dove to snag a point-blank off the foot of a UCD player shot 30 seconds later.
The netminder performed well again against the 49ers, making six saves while facing 15 shots.
Hoover is now 11-2-0 in goal for the Mustangs this season. She lowered her goals against average to a Big West best 0.68 and bettered her save percentage to .907.
She previously earned back-to-back Big West Player of the Week awards on Sept. 21 and 28.
