Cal Poly midfielder Junior Burgos (San Bruno, Calif./San Jose State) continued his early offensive onslaught last week, earning him Big West Player of the Week accolades.
The junior recorded the 21st hat trick in league history with a trifecta of goals in the Mustangs' 3-2 win over Cal State Fullerton last Wednesday.
The transfer from San Jose State picked up the accomplishment in a reserve role, scoring thrice in just 26 minutes of game action and just missing a fourth score with a shot off the post.
Burgos became the first league player since 2007 to post a hat trick, tied the Cal Poly program record for goals and now has four scores in his eight matches this season.
