UC Irvine forward Irving Garcia (San Luis, Ariz./Yavapai College) carried the Anteater offense in two wins last week, netting him Big West Player of the Week accolades.
The senior started his week with a pair of goals in UCI's 2-1 overtime road win over New Mexico. He scored in the 82nd minute to give the ‘Eaters the lead, then put away the golden goal in the 96th minute to help the club snap a two-match losing skid.
Garcia then followed up that effort with a goal and assist in UCI's 3-0 road win over Big West foe Cal State Northridge. He put away the first goal of the match in the 10th minute, then assisted on Spencer Thompson’s second goal later in the match.
Garcia's two game-winners give him five his career, placing him in a tie for 8th on UCI's career ledger.
