Kailyn Kugler (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente HS) led UC Santa Barbara to a pair of conference home victories as she recorded the game-winning goal in both matches, earning her the Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week award.

Kugler accounted for all three Gaucho goals for the week as UCSB defeated Cal State Fullerton (1-0) and UC Riverside (2-1 in 2OT).

Her only shot attempt against the Titans on Friday was successful as she found the net in the 75th minute to break a scoreless tie.

Kugler was much more active in Sunday's triumph over the Highlanders.  She took nine shots, four of which were on frame.  None was more important than the penalty kick she converted with 52 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give UCSB the 2-1 win.  Trailing 1-0, Kugler knotted the score with a goal in the 69th minute.

She now has scored a goal in three straight matches, which all have resulted in UCSB wins.  She leads the team and is tied for fourth in the Big West with six goals on the year.

Others nominated:  Coral Hoover (Cal Poly); Cynthia Jacobo (Cal State Northridge); Emily Kingsborough (Long Beach State); Marisa Boge (UC Davis)
