Senior guard Lisa McBride guided the Cal Poly Mustangs to a pair of conference wins which earned her Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolades, for the week ending Jan. 26. This marks her second honor of the season and fourth of her career, tying her for 13th all-time in the Big West record books.
In the Mustang's 68-58 win over Pacific, McBride shot 6-of-10 from the floor and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe for a total of 17 points. She also grabbed four rebounds and two assists. Two days later in the win over UC Davis, the Tucson, Ariz., native drained a season-high 20 points and was just two rebounds shy of her first double-double of the season.
Over the week, she led Cal Poly in total points (37), rebounds (12) and three-point percentage (.417) and averaged a team-best 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
