UC Davis junior defender
Danielle Contro (Saratoga, Calif./St. Francis HS) made her first career goal a big one in earning Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolades.
Contro netted the game-tying goal with 44 seconds remaining in regulation to force an eventual tie with No. 29-ranked UCF on Sunday. An opportunistic Contro knocked home a deflection that came off a shot from teammate Rochelle VanBuskirk.
After tying the game, Contro then helped the Aggie defense keep UCF off the board in the two ensuing overtime periods. It was Contro's first goal in 39 career games.
