After a one-week hiatus, the Big West cross country Athlete of the Week award is back in swing as Cal State Fullerton's Grace Gonzales and UC Irvine's Nick Mosey received the women’s and men’s honor, respectively.

Gonzales, a native of Chino, Calif., was voted the women's Athlete of the Week after her performance in the Aztec Invitational in San Diego. She finished the 5K competition in 17:50, good for fifth place overall. Gonzales' blistering pace made her the top finisher among all Big West competitors at the meet.

On the men's side, Mosey claimed his award after competing in the Asics/UCI Invitational Sept. 6. The Yorba Linda native won the individual title in the 8K competition with a time of 25:14.3, outlasting a field of 135 runners in the process. This was the first individual collegiate crown for Mosey as he led the Anteaters to a second place team finish.
