UC Riverside midfielder
Robert Cate (Alameda, Calif./St. Joesph Notre Dame HS) led the Highlanders to their first two wins of the season last week, netting him Big West Player of the Week accolades.
The junior started his week with a goal and an assist in UCR’s 3-1 win over Oral Roberts. His goal was an insurance tally in the 69th minute, while he assisted on the eventual game-winner in 44th minute.
Two days later, Cate led a stellar comeback against Gonzaga as UC Riverside battled back from a 2-0 deficit to post a 3-2 win. He completed the rally with a goal in the 88th minute.
