Cal State Fullerton's Erin Saddler earned her first Big West Player of the Week accolade after an outstanding offensive performance last weekend at the University of San Diego Tournament. This is the first weekly honor of the season for Cal State Fullerton.
Opening the week against No. 5 UCLA, Saddler blasted a .381 hitting percentage and recorded a team-high 10 kills and two digs. At the USD Tournament, Saddler led the Titans in kills in two of the three matches to earn herself a spot on the all-tournament team. On Saturday versus Texas A&M, Saddler set a career-high in kills (19), while hitting an impressive .457 clip to lead the Titans to their first victory since Aug. 30. Later in the afternoon, the Bellflower, Calif., native bested herself again with another career-high performance in kills with 23.
On the week, Saddler posted 57 kills and registered an overall attack percentage of .325 with a pair of service aces, seven digs and three block assists. Her efforts helped Cal State Fullerton snap a six-match losing streak that included three consecutive matches against AVCA Top 20 teams.
