With the first portion of the Big West Track & Field Championships just a week away, six Big West track & field clubs prepare for the conference meet with one of the league’s top track meets.

UC Irvine welcomes four other Big West schools to Anteater Stadium for the Steve Scott Invitational. The annual meet attracts hundreds of competitors to the UCI campus for the weekend and is named after the former Anteater standout who was a six-time All-American and three-time Olympian. Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State and UC Riverside will be the league clubs in competition along with UCI.

Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara will be in competition as well this weekend as the pair of Central Coast rivals meet in a dual meet in San Luis Obispo Saturday. Sunday the Gauchos will also be in competition as they send a contingent to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Payton Jordan Invitational hosted by Stanford.
