Simmons Heads Into New Year With Second Weekly Award

After two 20-point performances to guide Pacific to a perfect 2-0 week, Amber Simmons grabs her second Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the season. She collected her first weekly accolade back on Nov. 24.

In the Tigers win over Sacramento State, the Chico, Calif., native posted her fourth double-double of the year with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Against Iona, Simmons tallied her seventh 20-plus outing with 21 points. She added a career-best four assists and three steals to her total.

For the week, she shot .600 from the floor, hitting 15-of-25 in the two Tiger victories that improved their home record to a perfect 6-0. Defensively, the 6-0 forward posted a pair of blocks and six steals on the week.
