Cal Poly sophomore Morgan Miller (La Selva Beach, Calif./Monte Vista Christian HS) scored more goals in one week than any of her teammates did all of last season, spurring her to Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors.

Miller tallied two goals apiece against Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside in a pair of road victories as the Mustangs moved above .500 for the first time this season.  The four goals, her first strikes of the year, moved her into a tie for the team lead.

Against the Titans, Miller catapulted Cal Poly back into the match after her team trailed 2-0.  She cut the deficit in half at the 29:05 on a rebounded shot off a goalie deflection, then tied the match in the 83rd minute as she won a one-on-one battle with the Fullerton goalkeeper.  Cal Poly completed the comeback with its third consecutive goal exactly three minutes later.

The Mustangs improved to 2-0 in Big West play with a 4-1 win at UC Riverside on Sunday.  Miller again factored heavily into the win, scoring goals in the seventh and 24th minutes to give Cal Poly a 2-0 lead.  Her second goal, which came on a header, proved to be the game-winner.

For the week, all of Miller's six shots were on goal.

Others nominated: Janae Deas (Cal State Fullerton); Sahar Haghdan (Long Beach State); Laura King (Pacific)
