UC Irvine came away with the final cross country awards of the season as Sam Hyams and Erinn Kim claimed the men's and women's weekly honors, respectively.
Hyams, a freshman from Pleasanton, Calif., was the top-scoring runner and finished sixth overall in the 83-runner field at last Friday’s Titan Invitational. He had a time of 25:38.0 over the 8,000-meter course as UCI won the men’s title.
Kim, a senior from Milpitas, Calif., placed first in the 69-runner field at last Friday’s Titan Invitational with a time of 18:11.9 over 5,000 meters as UCI finished second in the team competition.
Both athletes claimed the weekly award for the first time in their collegiate careers.
