UC Santa Barbara forward Chris Pontius (Yorba Linda, Calif./Servite HS) helped the Gauchos stay near the top of the Big West standings with two key wins, netting him Big West Player of the Week accolades.

The senior started his week with a goal and an assist in UCSB's 5-1 home win over UC Riverside. The score marked the second consecutive season the versatile forward has tallied double-digit goals.

Pontius then hit the back of the net in the 101st minute in the Gauchos' big 1-0 road win over Cal Poly, a contest that was televised live nationally on Fox Soccer Channel. His team-leading 11th goal was the result of a skillful sideways strike that found the left corner of the net to silence the record crowd of 11,075.

Also Nominated: Eric Branagan-Franco, Cal Poly; Camilo Rojas, Cal State Northridge; Nathan Paterson, UC Riverside
