A pair of freshmen earned Big West Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week honors as Pacific forward/defender Laura Hogan (Poway, Calif./Poway HS) and UC Irvine goalkeeper Erica Quevedo (Northridge, Calif./North Hills Prep) delivered outstanding performances for their respective teams.

Hogan spearheaded a rare victory against three-time defending Big West champion Cal State Fullerton, scoring the game-winning goal in the 80th minute on a header past the Titan goalkeeper.  Friday's 3-2 win snapped an eight-game losing streak to the Titans and was their first triumph over CSF since 2001.  Hogan, who collected her first career multi-goal game, also struck at the 59:07 mark to tie the game at 1-1.

On Sunday, Hogan was pressed into duty as a defender with both Tiger captains out injured.  Her importance to the 4-1 win was no different than two nights before as Hogan marked Tessa Lennala the entire contest, and held her to three shots.  Lennala ranks second in the Big West with 16 points on the year.

Quevedo helped UC Irvine achieve a 0-0 double overtime tie against Big West co-leader Long Beach State on Sunday.  The netminder posted her third shutout of the season and made a career-high 14 saves.  The save total ties for the seventh-most in Big West single game history.

Quevedo, who faced 24 shots on the afternoon, also prevented numerous other scoring opportunities with clearances out of her team's goal box.

Others nominated: Lisa Kemp (UCD); Genelle Ives (UCSB)
