Caitlin Ledoux guided Long Beach State to three Big West victories last week, defeating Cal State Northridge, No. 22 Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara, to earn Big West Player of the Week accolades. Ledoux, nabbing Long Beach State’s first weekly honor of the season, is the first freshman to receive the award this year.
In Tuesday's contest with Cal State Northridge, Ledoux notched 10 kills, four digs and four blocks. Friday, she recorded a then career-high 20 kills and 12 digs in a five-set win over the nationally-ranked Mustangs. The following night against UC Santa Barbara, the 6-2 outside hitter blasted a .340 hitting percentage and topped her kill performance with a new career-high 22 kills and added 14 digs.
The Phelan, Calif., native, finished with double-figures in kills in all three matches and recorded two double-doubles. For the week, she hit .281 and averaged 4.0 kills and 2.31 digs per set, while tallying nine blocks and three service aces.
