UC Irvine goalkeeper Pat Barton collected two more weekly honors following his performance last weekend as the freshman was named to the
College Soccer News and
Soccer America National Team of the Week.
Barton, who was also named Big West Player of the Week, had a excellent start to his Anteater career over the holiday weekend, posting a pair of shutouts in two UCI wins. He first collected four saves in the Anteaters' 1-0 win over Gonzaga, then matched that total two days later in a 2-0 blanking of Long Island.
Barton is the second UC Irvine player in less than a year to be named to CSN's national team of the week, joining teammate Matt Murphy who was named to the weekly list Sept. 18, 2006.
