In its first two matches as a Big West member, UC Davis was victorious in both and goalkeeper Sarah Peters (Petaluma, Calif./Petaluma HS) played a key role in that success. The redshirt freshman made her collegiate debut memorable as she posted shutouts in both starts, a pair of 1-0 wins against Kent State and Fresno State. She earned Big West Player of the Week for her efforts.
She faced five shots in the win Friday against Kent State, earning her first collegiate victory and shutout. In Sunday's triumph, the Bulldogs peppered the Aggie goal with 11 shots, including seven in the second half alone. Peters was up to the challenge as she turned away the two shots that were on frame. Peters helped keep Fresno State at bay and allowed the Aggies to win the game in overtime, in the 97th minute.
