UC Riverside junior forward Tessa Lennala (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral HS) and Long Beach State junior forward Kim Silos (Ontario, CA/Don Lugo HS) stood out offensively in their performances to gain Big West Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week recognition.
Lennala scored half of her team's goals for the week as the Highlanders romped to a 5-1 victory over Fresno State and lost 3-1 to No. 25 San Diego. She scored a pair of goals on eight shots and added the game-winning assist against the Bulldogs. The two goals and five points tied single-match school records. Lennala then accounted for UCR's only goal in the setback to the Toreros.
Silos earned Offensive Most Valuable Player honors of the Sooner Classic as she recorded seven points on two goals and three assists for the tournament. She had two assists in Long Beach State's 5-1 thrashing of Middle Tennessee. In a 5-0 blanking of North Texas, Silos posted two goals and an assist. Her first goal in the 12th minute accounted for the game winner. Silos now has scored two goals in a game three times in her career.
