Newcomers claimed the weekly men's soccer honors as UC Davis' Sule Anibaba and UC Santa Barbara's Ciaran O’Brien shared the accolades following solid performances last weekend.

Anibaba (Davis, Calif./Davis HS) claimed the weekly honor after leading the Aggies to the team title at the OSU Diadora Classic. The UCD captain notched a pair of goals in Aggies' 6-0 whitewash against IPFW, then tallied anoher goal via penalty kick in the 4-2 victory over Oakland.

Anibaba now leads the team, which is competing as a member of the Big West for the first time this season, in goals (6) and points (13). Both totals are also tops in the conference.

O'Brien (Federal Way, Wash./Decatur HS) was a key player in the Gauchos’ 2-1 overtime win over previously-ranked #3 SMU last Friday. The transfer from San Diego gave UCSB the lead with his goal in the 34th minute, then assisted on Eric Avila's game-winner just 6:48 into the first overtime.

O'Brien is tied for the team lead in goals (2) and points (5), while tying for second in shots (12).

Others Nominated: Kevin Guppy, Cal State Northridge; Spencer Thompson, UC Irvine; Zach Walker, UC Riverside.
