Morris Posts Career-High Scoring Effort, Leading 49ers To Third Straight Home Win

Junior guard Donovan Morris (San Bernardino, Calif./Cajon HS) earned Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors, leading the 49ers to their third consecutive home win with a career-high 26 points against San Francisco.
    
It was the third game in a row that Morris posted 20-plus points.  Morris reached his 26 points thanks to 9 of 14 shooting from the field and a 7 of 8 effort from the line.  He also helped the 49er cause with seven rebounds, four assists and a steal.  
   
In the 71-68 win, Morris had a three-point play with 2:25 left to tie the game at 64-64, and he knocked down two free throws with 21 seconds remaining to lead the 49ers to their final margin of victory.
   
Morris ranks fourth in the Big West in scoring (16.6 ppg), ninth in field goal percentage (.471) and seventh in free throw percentage (.820).
