Crimes Hits Her Way To Second Weekly Honor

An impressive .621 hitting percentage and two 20-kill outings, led Long Beach State to three straight sweeps and earned Alexis Crimes Big West Player of the Week, for the week ending November 4. This marks Crimes' second weekly honor of the year and seventh of her career.

She began the week firing a .548 hitting percentage in the 3-0 win over Cal State Fullerton. A few days later, in a nonconference matchup with Cal State Bakersfield, the 6-3 middle blocker blasted a .696 clip with 17 kills, while committing just one error. Saturday's win over Cal State Northridge was picture perfect for Crimes, as she produced a 21-kill performance with no attack errors (.636 hitting percentage). She scooped up seven digs to total 15 on the week.

For the week, the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native averaged 6.44 kills and 1.67 digs per game, as the 49ers improved to 18-6 overall and 11-2 in conference play. Long Beach State returns to action Friday night when they welcome first-year member UC Davis to The Walter Pyramid. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
