Guiding UC Davis to a 3-0 record and tournament championship at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic last week, sophomore Anna Harp earned Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, for the week ending Nov. 18. With the impressive showing in Hawaii, UC Davis improves to an unblemished 4-0 and is the lone Big West school to remain undefeated after two weeks of play.
In the opening game against Northern Arizona, Harp went 3-for-7 from the field and recorded nine points. She followed that performance with a 14-point night against host Hawaii. The 5-8 guard also grabbed two rebounds and one steal. Harp, who came off the bench in all three contests, saved her best outing for the final contests against Washington, where she drained 21 points and blasted a .454 field goal percentage.
For the three-day tournament Harp averaged 14.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and fired a .444 field goal, earning her Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic Most Valuable Player.
The Aggies, looking to keep their perfect 4-0 record intact, take a break from action during the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to the court Tuesday, November 27 when they host Portland State at 7:00 p.m.
Other nominated: Megan Harrison (CP), Lauren Chow (CSF).
