UC Santa Barbara midfielder Ciaran O'Brien (Federal Way, Wash./University of San Diego) collected his second Big West Player of the Week honor after leading the Gauchos to a big 3-0 win over rival Cal State Northridge.
The sophomore transfer was directly involved in all three UCSB goals against the Matadors. He started things off with the eventual game-winning goal in the 20th minute, assisted on the Gauchos' second goal in the 68th minute, then put another one on the board in the 71st minute.
O'Brien is now second on the squad with five goals, three of which have come in the last two matches. He has also scored or assisted on UCSB's last six goals spanning three contests.
