Cal State Fullerton senior midfielder Stacey Thompson (Saugus, Calif./Saugus HS) earned Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolades as she provided all the offense the Titans would need in a conference victory over Cal State Northridge.

Although she did not record any stats in Fullerton's 1-0 win over league-leading Long Beach State, Thompson erupted offensively against the Matadors.  She started the scoring in the 16th minute as she tapped a cross inside the left post for her third goal of the season, which also accounted for the game-winner.

Thompson notched assists on Fullerton's second and third goals, raising her season total to five.  Her five assists ranks tied for third in the Big West.

It is the first career weekly award for Thompson, who is the third Titan to be honored with Player of the Week this season.  Fullerton is the only Big West member with three honorees in 2007.

Others nominated: Rochelle VanBuskirk, UC Davis; Caty Cope, UC Irvine
