UC Irvine junior Brad Evans scored two goals versus Cal State Northridge to keep the Anteaters hopes of a conference title alive.
UC Irvine forward Brad Evans (Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe HS) was named the Big West Player of the Week after leading the Anteaters to a win in their conference opener. It was the third week in a row a UCI player took home the award.
The senior scored a pair of goals to lead the Anteaters to a conference opening 4-0 road win over UC Riverside, extending their unbeaten string to five matches (4-0-1).
The two goals gave Evans 26 for his career, moving him up to second on UCI’s all-time list and 7th in Big West history. In addition, Evans is fourth in school-history in career points (62) and tied the Anteater career mark with his eighth game-winning goal.
Evans also led UC Irvine to its first national ranking in program history. The Anteaters appear in the Soccer Ameria poll at #23 and in the College Soccer News poll at #25.
