Cal State Fullerton senior midfielder Lauryn Welch (La Mirada, CA/Troy HS) earned Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors after coming up big on her team's roadtrip to the state of Texas, scoring two goals to lead the Titans to an upset of sixth-ranked Texas A&M last Friday.

The Titans were outshot 25-7 in the match against the Aggies, but Welch made both of her shots count as they found the back of the net. She scored her first goal in the 26th minute after picking up a loose ball at midfield and knocking it home for a 1-0 Titan lead. With the score tied at 1-1, Welch netted the game-winner at the 61:05 mark. She took a pass from freshman Courtney Heinen on the counterattack and blasted through to the upper corner of the goal.

Welch scored her third goal of the weekend and fourth of the season in CSF's next game against No. 23 Texas on Sunday. She pulled the Titans within a goal in the 34th minute on an unassisted strike that went over the outstretched arms of the Longhorn 'keeper. It was her only shot on the afternoon in the 3-2 loss.

The three goals gave her 16 for her career, good for seventh in the Fullerton record book.
