Cal State Northridge freshman goalkeeper Kevin Guppy was selected Big West Men's Soccer Player of the Week. He has a 0.24 goals against average so far this season.
Cal State Northridge sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Guppy (Chino Hills, CA/Chino HS) picked up right where he left off in 2005 as he was named the Big West Player of the Week after leading the Matadors to a 1-1 tie on the road against UCLA.
Guppy, the 2005 Big West Goalkeeper of the Year and first team All Big West selection, made nine saves in net, including two in overtime against UCLA's top forward Jason Leopoldo, to help the Matadors earn their second tie in as many years against UCLA after 12 consecutive losses in the series.
Guppy's solid play also helped CSUN extend its unbeaten streak in season openers to eight, all of which have come under the guidance of coach Terry Davila.
