Cal State Fullerton junior Candice Baker (Buena Park, CA/Cypress HS) earned Big West Player of the Week for her role in the Titans' sweep of previously first place Pacific, as one of her four extra base hits during the series was a grand slam.

Baker, who pitches and plays shortstop for the Titans, came into the series hitting just .198 but posted a .444 (4-for-9) average for the week. She had three home runs and a double to go along with four runs scored and seven RBI. Baker recorded a 1.222 slugging percentage (11 total bases).

She homered in each of the three games as the Titans outscored the Tigers 24-3 in the series. In Saturday's game one, she hit a seventh inning solo shot to help Fullerton to a 3-0 victory. She gave the Titans an 11-3, five-inning victory in game two as her fifth inning grand slam capped off a six-run explosion in the frame. Baker had her best performance in the finale, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. She smacked a two-run home run and a double in a 10-0 win in six innings.

Cal State Fullerton senior Marissa Marzan (Fresno, CA/Arizona) was the winning pitcher in all three games against Pacific and threw her first career perfect game in Sunday's series finale to capture the Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week award.

The right-hander became the seventh different Titan (ninth overall) to accomplish a perfect game, and the first Jodie Cox in 2001 versus Minnesota. Marzan needed only 59 pitches, striking out five in the six-inning 10-0 victory.

Marzan pitched a four-hit complete game shutout in the opener to lead the Titans to a 3-0 win. She allowed just one hit through the first four innings and did not allow an extra base hit in the game. In game two, she entered in relief and allowed an unearned run in 1.2 innings of work. The Titans put the game out of reach with a six-run fifth to win 11-3 in five innings.

For the week, Marzan went 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 14.2 innings, walking three and fanning seven.
