Pacific junior Anthony Esparza (Bakersfield, CA/Fresno City College) collected the Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award as his two double-doubles sparked the Tigers to home victories over UC Irvine and Long Beach State.

The 6-5 forward posted 12 points and a then career-high 10 rebounds to go along with four assists and two steals in a 64-52 win over UC Irvine, which had entered the game undefeated in league play at 8-0. Esparza made 5 of 12 shots from the field and knocked down a pair of threes to help the Tiger cause.

In Saturday's 87-78 victory over Long Beach State, Esparza was even better. He tied his career high with 21 points and his 13 rebounds bested his record-setting effort from two nights before. Esparza hit 6 of 8 from the field and all nine of his free throw attempts in 37 minutes of action.

For the week, he averaged 16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He shot 55.0 percent (11-of-20) overall and 50.0 percent (2-of-4) from three-point range.
