Olivia Waldowski's explosive .542 combined hitting percentage, which included an error-free .700 clip one evening, earned her Big West’s Volleyball Player of the Week accolades, for the week ending Oct. 8.

In Friday's match against Cal State Fullerton, the 6-3 middle blocker went 14-for-20 for a .700 hitting clip and tied her career record of five services aces. She also tied for a team-leading four blocks in the sweep over the Titans.

Against UC Riverside, Waldowksi (Irvine, Calif.) knocked out a .429 hitting percentage and added three total blocks (one solo, two assists). For the week she averaged 4.83 kills per game, while combining for six aces, five digs and seven total blocks.

The Gauchos, who improved to 10-7 overall and 3-2 in the Big West, have a tough week ahead as they face Pepperdine on Tuesday evening for a nonconference matchup. UC Santa Barbara also faces Big West Conference leader No. 20 Cal Poly on Saturday, Oct. 14. Both contests are slated for 7:00 p.m.
