Long Beach State sophomore midfielder Hayley Bolt (Lakewood, CA/Los Alamitos HS) made the key plays for the 49ers in their conference-opening wins over Pacific and Cal State Northridge, earning her Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors.

Bolt helped the 49ers start Big West play 2-0 for just the second time in school history after playing a role in three of the five goals her team scored for the week. On Friday, Bolt registered the game-winning assist and added a goal for good measure in a 2-0 win against the Tigers.

She waited until the 69th minute versus the Matadors on Sunday to strike. Off of a 40 yard free kick from teammate Kim Silos, Bolt headed the ball past the CSUN goalkeeper to snap a 2-2 tie and give the 49ers a 3-2 win.

For the week, Bolt had two goals and an assist for five points. She took nine shots, four of which were on goal. Bolt is tied with four other players for the Big West lead in goals (5) and her 12 points is tied for sixth in the league.
