UC Riverside goalkeeper Charles Alamo (San Luis Obispo, CA/San Luis Obispo HS) led the Highlanders to a pair of impressive showings against the leaders in the Big West on his way to the Player of the Week award.

The junior picked a perfect time for his first two shutouts of the season as they came against conference co-leaders Cal State Northridge and UC Santa Barbara. He posted six saves in the Highlanders historic 1-0 win over UCSB, and picked up four more saves in the scoreless tie against the Matadors.

Alamo, who missed most of last season due to injury, picked up his ninth career shutout and is the all-time leader in UC Riverside history in saves (205) and wins (15). In addition, he currently leads the Big West in saves with 59.
