Cal State Northridge's Sims Provides Offensive Surge In Season-Opening Victory

Junior Willie Sims (Los Angeles, CA/Reseda HS) picked up where he left off in each of the last two seasons. The two-time Big West Co-Offensive Player of the Year received Big West Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors after leading the Matadors to a season-opening win over Oakland.

Sims, a 5-9 forward, scored two goals and added an assist in the Matadors' 4-0 win over the Golden Grizzlies to open up the Matador Soccer Invitational.

He assisted on CSUN's first score, then proceeded to score twice two minutes apart. He had a team-high five shots for the match, including three on goal.

Sims has led the Matadors in scoring in each of the last two seasons.
