LBSU's Keohohou Knocks In Title-Clinching Game-Winner
Long Beach State senior Oli Keohohou (Newbury Park, CA/Brigham Young) helped the 49ers clinch their second consecutive conference championship in a sweep of UC Santa Barbara, providing clutch hits in the win that clinched the outright Big West title. Keohohou was selected Big West Softball Player of the Week for her efforts.

The first baseman hit .500 (4-for-8) with five runs scored and three RBI for the week. She slugged a pair of home runs and either scored or drove in half of the team's 16 runs during the three-game set with the Gauchos. In addition to her hitting prowess, Keohohou walked four times and was hit by a pitch, giving her an on base percentage of .692 for the series.

Keohohou was instrumental in Sunday's 2-1, nine-inning win that secured the Big West crown for the 49ers. She slammed a solo home run in the fourth inning and notched a game-winning, ninth inning RBI single with the bases loaded and a full count. In Saturday's doubleheader, she went a combined 2-for-4 with four runs scored. She blasted her first home run of the series in game one, while also scoring twice in a 6-2 victory. Keohohou scored two more times and drew a pair of walks in an 8-1 game two win.

Weekley, Cervenka Play Key Roles In Titan, 49er Sweeps
Cal State Fullerton sophomore Brooke Weekley (Mission Viejo, CA/Capistrano Valley HS) and Long Beach State senior Meredith Cervenka (La Crescenta, CA/Crescenta Valley HS) were named Big West Softball Co-Pitchers of the Week after helping their teams to key series sweeps.

Weekley took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Pacific scored three harmless runs in an eventual 7-3 Titan victory in game two of the series on Saturday. She struck out a career-high 10 batters, eclipsing her previous-best seven K's against Utah State on Apr. 4, 2004. Weekley sat down the first 11 batters of the game and 17 of the first 19, sprinkling in two walks along the way. Two of the three runs she allowed were earned.

Cervenka was the winning pitcher when Long Beach State clinched the Big West title in Sunday's 2-1 win over UC Santa Barbara. She tossed nine innings of five-hit ball, allowing just one unearned run while striking out seven. She also threw a complete game in a 6-2 win, yielding five hits and two runs (one earned) while fanning six.
