Pacific’s Yango Posts Consecutive Double-Doubles In Road Sweep

Pacific senior Guillaume Yango (Paris, France/College of Southern Idaho) helped the Tiger men’s basketball team remain undefeated in conference play and register a road sweep of Idaho and Utah State, garnering him Big West Player of the Week honors.

The 6-9 center recorded back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in his career as the Tigers were the Big West’s first team to sweep the difficult roadtrip to Idaho and Utah State. Yango notched his fifth and sixth double-doubles, helping Pacific move to 14-0 in Big West games.

Against the Vandals, Yango collected 14 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots in a 78-56 victory on Thursday. He made 6-of-10 attempts from the field in 29 minutes of action. In Saturday’s 64-63 win versus the Aggies, Yango notched 15 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 7-of-12 from the floor. He added an assist and two blocked shots in 34 minutes of playing time.

This is the second Player of the Week award for Yango this season.
