For the second week in a row, Cal State Fullerton junior Bobby Brown (Los Angeles, CA/Westchester HS) earned the nod as Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week. He led the Titans to a 1-1 performance at the FIU Holiday Classic and was named to the all-tournament team.
Brown averaged 27.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the week. He played the full 40 minutes in both contests. Brown hit at 40.0 percent (18 of 45) clip overall from the field, but sizzled from long distance, making 10 of his 19 three-point attempts for 52.6 percent. The 6-1 guard also sank all eight of his opportunities from the free throw line.
In a 88-76 loss to open the Classic, Brown tied his career high with 30 points against Texas-San Antonio. He committed just one turnover in the 40 minutes, making 10 of 28 from the field, including 6 of 13 from three-point range. He added two rebounds and two assists.
Brown recorded 24 points, four rebounds and three assists to help return CSF to the win column in a 74-57 triumph over host Florida International Wednesday. He was 8 of 17 from the floor and drained 4 of 6 threes.
