Pacific's Maraker Keeps Double-Double Streak Going

Pacific senior Christian Maraker (Varberg, Sweden/Vastergardskolan) was named Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second straight week, posting a pair of double-doubles and establishing a career-high for most points in a single game.

The 6-9 forward extended his streak of double-doubles to four straight games in leading the Tigers to a 2-0 week. Maraker notched 21 points and 10 rebounds in a 81-63 home win against San Jose State Wednesday. On Saturday, he erupted for a career-high 34 points and corraled 12 rebounds as Pacific notched a 91-75 road victory against Western Kentucky.

For the week, Maraker averaged 27.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while knocking down 61.8 (21-of-34) percent of his floor shots. He also was a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line.

Maraker scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half to help the Tigers pull away from San Jose State. He made 7-of-14 field goal attempts and hit all six charity tosses while adding two assists, a block and a steal. Against the Hilltoppers, Maraker poured in 19 points in the first half to help his team to an eight-point lead at the break. The Tigers handed WKU just its third home loss in the last 21 games.
