Cal State Northridge's Krohn Extends Goal Scoring Streak

Cal State Northridge sophomore Kristy Krohn has scored a goal in four straight games, including the game-winner against Long Beach State on Sunday.

Cal State Northridge sophomore Kristy Krohn (Northridge, CA/Los Angeles Baptist HS) was selected Big West Women's Soccer Player of the Week after playing a key role in her team's 2-0 start to conference play. She scored one goal each in wins over UC Irvine and Long Beach State to extend her goal-scoring streak to four matches.

Krohn's only shot of the game found the back of the net in CSUN's 3-1 win over UC Irvine on Friday. She came up huge for the Matadors against Long Beach State on Sunday. The midfielder corraled a loose ball, carried it up the right side of the field and snuck a shot past the 49er goalkeeper from close range for the game's only goal. The 58th minute strike for Krohn gave her eight goals on the year, tying her for the school record for most goals in a season with Erin Broadwell (1999) and Brianna Monka (2004).

She is tied for the team lead in points with 17. Her scoring exploits helped the Matadors extend their winning streak to nine consecutive matches and improve their overall record to 10-1.
