Senior Daniel Paladini (Northridge, CA/St. Francis HS) helped Cal State Northridge jump out to a 2-0 start in conference play, scoring a total of three goals in wins over UC Riverside and Cal Poly as he earned Big West Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors. He also was recognized on the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for his efforts.
Paladini netted the game-winning goal in the 71st minute in CSUN’s 2-1 win against UC Riverside on Wednesday. He took three shots in the match and all were on frame.
In Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Cal Poly, the midfielder tallied two goals to increase his season total to four. He struck for the first goal of the match in the eighth minute, then added an insurance score in the 74th minute to finish off the Mustangs. Paladini took seven shots on the week, including five shots on goal.
Paladini is second on the team with four goals, 10 points and two-game winners.
